Admission requirements for Nigeria Maritime University varies for candidates depending on the mode of entry. Requirements are different for direct entry and UTME applicants.
Nigeria Maritime University Admission Requirements (UTME)
For UTME applicants, the following criteria must be met before candidates can have a chance at admission:
- All candidates must have reached the age of 16.
- Candidates must have at least six credits in their O’level result. This must include English Language, Mathematics and three other courses related to their applied course of study.
- Candidates must obtain a score at least 160 in JAMB examination
- Candidates must take Nigeria Maritime University PUTME screening examination and must score high enough
- Relevant O’level results must be obtained in only one sitting
- Candidates must make the correct subject combination choices
- Candidates must meet the stipulated cutoff marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.
Nigeria Maritime University Admission Requirements (Direct Entry)
For Direct Entry applicants, the following criteria must be met before candidates can have a chance at admission:
- Candidates must have at least five credits in their O’level result. This must include English Language, Mathematics and three other courses related to their applied course of study.
- All candidates must have reached the age of 16.
- Candidates should possess at least one of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN
